When in doubt, ask the insurer

The world of health insurance in the USA is pretty complicated. There are many terms used by the insurance agents, and on insurance websites that just seem like undecipherable jargon to many. More so for international students stepping into the USA for the first time.
There is every chance that words like deductible, co-insurance, 80-20 plan, etc. might seem confusing. When buying that international students medical insurance, if you are in any doubt about any part/clause of the policy, do not hesitate to ask. It is your legal right, and the insurance company’s responsibility to educate you about every aspect of the policy that you are paying money to buy.
Do not buy the policy till you are 100% certain about every clause in it. It might seem like a lot of legalese, and way beyond your understanding, but actually it isn’t. Many terms are self-explanatory, while others will be clear when an expert explains them in simple language.
It is a good investment of an hour or two to understand your policy. It will help you use the international student insurance policy more efficiently to file claims when needed, and also help you in decreasing the chances of a denied claim.
