Are you a student who has recently completed his/her education in the USA and are planning on working to gather some practical experience? If so, consider Optional Practical Training Insurance.
It can be very exciting to finish your education in a foreign country. Many international students upon completion of a baccalaureate, masters, or PhD, consider finding a job. Unfortunately, most universities and colleges do not provide health insurance for international students on Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Optional Practical Training Insurance. provides health insurance coverage for international students who have recently finished their studies and are starting to work. To be eligible for the OPT insurance, one must have a work permit in addition to an F-1 visa, and no longer be enrolled in full time classes.
OPT insurance may be perceived as a “temporary” insurance. It provides health insurance coverage for the insured until he/she receives insurance coverage from his/her employer. OPT health insurance may be purchased for a period of time anywhere between 5 days to 12 months. OPT insurance provides coverage for the following:
• Prescription medication expense
• Hospital/Clinical charges
• Surgery
• Emergency Services and Evacuation
• Repatriation of remains
