Aflac’s stock was sitting at $35.51. Today, it’s trading at approximately $46.06. You don’t have to do the math – that represents a 29.7% profit. Why is the stock performing so well?
Aflac Outperforms
There are many reasons the insurer is posting positive trading gains despite the overall effect of the recession harming every business:
- Credit Suisse Group AG raised the stock to “outperform” from “neutral”
- The insurer makes most of its revenue from Japan
- It remains the largest supplemental insurance provider
- Insurance companies mostly performed well compared to other sectors
